In Season

This page explains how the monthly fruit and vegetable guide chooses its data. It also links to the calendars used for each country.

What "in season" means

The guide includes a fruit or vegetable when growers normally harvest it in the selected country during that month. It excludes imports and produce available only from long-term storage, heated greenhouses, or other protected methods.

The guide uses government sources, national horticultural organisations, and national produce boards where possible. If no detailed national source exists, it uses the overlap between two reputable regional sources. Weather, latitude, altitude, cultivar, and farming method can shift harvest dates by several weeks.

Ireland

Canada

When provincial calendars differ, the guide keeps only their overlapping fresh-harvest periods.
